Meet Chef Maria Elia
After making a name for herself heading up the kitchens at Delfina and Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room, including stages at El Bulli and Arzak, Maria was headhunted to open a restaurant in California within a 5-star boutique resort, where she created a unique fresh and eclectic Greek Californian cuisine, gaining rave reviews. Now based in London, where she writes, cooks, teaches and has established herself as a consultant in demand, designing concepts for restaurant start-ups and various projects around the globe. Author of three award-winning books: The Modern Vegetarian, Full of Flavour, and Smashing Plates, which draws on her Anglo-Greek heritage, redefining Greek cuisine as we know it! In between projects Maria can be found cooking her ‘Smashing Plates’ residency at Great Guns Social SE1.
